London, UK: OCR Labs, a world leader in digital ID verification, has appointed Adam Desmond as Sales Director for EMEA. Desmond is the latest senior hire to join the team and will lead the expansion of its EMEA sales team following OCR Labs' $30M Series B earlier this year.
OCR Labs solves major challenges, including identity fraud and regulatory compliance, using its proprietary technology. The end-to-end solution supports Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations and improves customer identity verification while reducing fraud.
Formerly a swimmer for Team GB before moving into sales and the Identity Verification market, Desmond was previously Country Manager at Mitek Systems, where he built out a team and supported the growth in the UK market with major tier one banks. Desmond has over eight years of experience in the sector, focusing on document verification solutions, running business units and regions for GBG and its IDscan acquisition.
His new role for OCR Labs will see the company grow a dedicated EMEA sales team over the coming years. Desmond will be responsible for building out the UK, and European sales teams across all sectors as OCR Labs targets fast growth. These sectors include financial services, gaming, insurance, telco, car hire and many more.
OCR Labs is already supporting clients across many industries, including governments, crypto and a variety of platform-based businesses, such as SaaS providers. Customers include HSBC, ING, Reed, Vodafone, ZIP, BMW, Coinmetro and many other customers and partners.
