London, UK. and Madrid, Spain: Fintech SaaS provider Toqio has appointed Luis Fernandez as its new VP of Customer Success. He is one of the latest senior hires to join the Toqio team, which has scaled from 17 to almost 100 in 2021 and recently expanded its services into the Spanish market.

As Toqio continues to grow, Fernandez will be in charge of taking the company’s Customer Success team to the next level of maturity, while ensuring that Toqio’s clients are realising maximum benefits from their investments and trust put into the company. He will lead a team of professionals dedicated to ensure a smooth onboarding into the platform and its products, making sure clients have the full Toqio experience and are supported throughout the process.

Toqio allows any business, not just banks, to launch embedded finance propositions for their business or consumer customers in a matter of days. It removes the need to build and manage complex software solutions through its SaaS platform and a marketplace of banking and fintech partners. Customers include Crealsa, Wamo and Just Cash Flow, and are based across Europe.

Toqio is currently planning a phased geographic expansion into the US and Europe. In less than two years since its launch, Toqio has secured 50 customers with more than 60 platforms live across Europe and the US. The company recently announced its official launch in Spain. With offices in London, Madrid and Nairobi, Toqio is now focusing on the Spanish market where it will increase its number of clients, operations and double its workforce. Spain is the fifth most powerful country in Europe in the fintech ecosystem and will be a priority for Toqio.

With over 20 years of international business and IT experience, Fernandez has spent the last six years working in the SaaS ecosystem, mainly with ServiceNow. Prior to this, he held Director level roles in Data Processing, Software Development, IT and Tech Support with companies within the WPP Group, as well as with Financial, Automotive and Casino industries.

Luis Fernandez has a Computer Science degree and a Masters degree in Business Management. He’s been connected to the Technology sector, providing solutions to both internal and external clients, since the very first day of his career. Coming from a humble background where he started working as an IT Service Desk Technician, he is a firm believer that every person has the opportunity to make a difference and develop a meaningful and rewarding career.
