London and Edinburgh – Today, Locket – the prevention-first home insurance provider, is announcing a partnership with Edinburgh-based smart home security company Boundary. The initiative offers a combination of two customer-centric services – DIY smart home tech that fits around customers’ lives and home insurance that puts people first.

From today, customers of Boundary’s smart home alarm systems will be given a fairer price on their insurance when they protect their homes with Locket. Existing Locket members will also be able to take advantage of the partnership if they add Boundary products to their policy. In addition to this, Boundary customers will also receive a £50 Amazon voucher if they purchase home insurance through Locket*.

Locket is the prevention-first insurtech that rewards members with a fairer price on their insurance when they proactively protect their homes with smart tech. It uses a monthly subscription-based model – similar to Netflix – and no cancellation fees, no admin fees, no nonsense. It’s been a busy few weeks for the insurance provider, which has recently rebranded from Hiro to Locket following extensive creative consulting, and announced partnerships with Kubu and StepLadder, as well as ex-burglar and TV personality, Michael Fraser.

Boundary is a DIY smart security provider that is simple to install and goes further to ensure customer safety. It uses connected sensors to monitor homes, and devices can be added to windows and doors, as well as individual rooms. The platform even allows customers to dynamically segment areas – such as bedrooms at night – and exclude pets from monitoring, reducing false alarms.

“Not only is Boundary a great smart home security solution, but – like Locket – it’s a really forward-thinking company that has created a product with its customers’ lifestyles in mind,” says Hamza Abbas, Business Development and Partnerships Director at Locket. “We know the things that are really precious are often covered by home insurance, but they can never truly be replaced. Of course, we pay out on claims – and quickly – but we’d rather work with our members to help prevent bad things from happening in the first place. Partnering with Boundary enables our members to take another step towards this.”

Boundary is also being considered as an addition to Locket’s Smart Store, which could allow Locket members to purchase Boundary devices at a heavily discounted price in the future.

“We’re really excited to announce our partnership with Locket. There’s a great synergy between our two brands and we believe this new relationship with such an innovative insurance provider will add a lot of value to the Boundary customers. Locket and Boundary are both on a mission to help protect people’s homes in a smart and modern way that is convenient and simple for consumers,” says Robin Knox, CEO and Founder at Boundary. “Our customer bases are very closely aligned, so hopefully Locket members see the value in what we’re doing, and vice versa.”
